The show also uses a lot of different styles of animation, including 3D and CGI. The characters are hand-drawn with a traditional pen-and-paper technique called rotoscoping. One of the reasons for its popularity is its unique style of animation. The series was created by French animator, Xavier Delloye, who also voices Oggy in the show. Oggy and the Cockroaches is one of the most popular animated shows on television. The show’s protagonist and titular character, Oggy (known as Georges Robins prior to his transformation), is a young male green-colored ogre who often gets involved in crazy adventures with his girlfriend, Jacky, and nemesis, Marky. The first season of Oggy premiered in 1984, and after that, the series became a hit. The cartoon was produced by Socpresse (previously called Les Editions Albert René and now merged under the company name Canal +).
